Hello, I am Olivia
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Relocating to Canada wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more complicated than they ought to.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines formed. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Granite Brook Way
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Canada.
What This Site Is About (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A paid review platform
- Just another generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in Canada continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Olivia
